 ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

Love came down at Christmas; Love all lovely, love divine; Love was born at Christmas,
Stars and angels gave the sign. Christmas is a time to renew bonds of love. It's a wonderful time when loved ones can show appreciation for each other. It's also a great time to use that love to build bridges of understanding, acceptance, and forgiveness.Every day is like Christmas for us because Jesus is so good to us every day, but this time is extra special because He pours out His love in extra measure. We feel His love from loved ones, acquaintances, and even strangers. There's just something about Jesus' birthday that turns people's hearts and minds to peace and love and goodwill. It brings out the best in everyone because it brings Jesus out, and He's the best ! Christmas is not about the Savior's infancy; it is about His deity. The humble birth of Jesus Christ was never intended to conceal the reality that God was being born into the world. Catholic countries have their special preparation for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the Philippines, majority of people there are Catholic. On December 16 they started their "Simbang Gabi" or Night Mass until Christmas eve. Christmas day is a day when family reunites and exchange gifts while watching their beautiful Christmas tree along with Christmas songs.

EQUAL RIGHTS EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

IN order to build a great democratic, just, fair and humane society, it is of utmost importance to arouse the broad masses of our people to join the struggle that will ensure "equal rights, equal opportunities and progress for all".Genuine equality between women and men, girls and boys can only be realised in the process of a just, fair and humane transformation of our society as a whole. There's need for us to unite and enable women to take their rightful place in production and political activity to improve their economic and political status.
Women must not be treated as mere passive participants in national development. But they must enjoy fundamental rights and freedoms befitting all human beings, both in domestic and public life. Women need to be treated justly in families, workplaces, public life and the Church.
Women are a backbone of our families and play major roles in our economy, especially in rural areas. The life and health of women are of central importance to the future development of our nation.Women bring special gifts to the progress of our country. If they are not listened to and are discriminated against, then we simply will not have sustainable and equitable progress. And men should be more involved in promoting women's rights. Advancement will not go very far unless women and girls are enabled to enjoy the same rights and opportunities as men and boys.Women must be represented at decision-making levels in both economics and politics, to sustainably achieve development goals.
We should be aware that the liberation of women from these injustices is part and parcel of the liberation of all the poor and oppressed.
This realisation demands a total rupture with the prevailing patriarchal system in order to build an egalitarian society. The women's struggle is deeply connected with efforts of all the poor who are struggling for their upliftment in all aspects of life.

CLIMATE CHANGE ...........

Climate ?...change ?!!! Climate Change ?!  If I heard that word, what comes in my mind is the changing of the weather. For example, last year we are suffering El Nino and it causes dry field, trees and some plants are  dying because of hot temperature. And also some animals are dying because they haven't any water to drink.

After the El Nino, this year we are now suffering La Nina. That's what we call climate change.La Nina causes strong typhoon like the typhoon YOLANDA .This is a great typhoon we suffered this year. And it destroys a lot of houses and buildings ,and there were many people who died because of that typhoon .

We must not suffering those kinds of tragedy if we know how to discipline ourselves in form of not cutting trees .And this typhoon YOLANDA must be a lesson to all of us .

GOING GLOBAL THROUGH ENGLISH

The spread of English is both a cause and result of globalization. But Graddol warns that this trend is 'probably not a cause of celebration by native speakers'. In a world in which English becomes a global basic skill, says Graddol, native English-speakers will lose their historic competitive advantage.
English is well on its way to becoming the dominant global language. Is this a good thing? Yes, in fields such as science where a common language brings efficiency gains. But the global dominance of the English language is bad news for world literature, according to CEPR researcher Jacques Mélitz (Centre de Recherche en Economie et Statistique, Paris and CEPR). Why? Because if the English language dominates world publishing, very few translations except those from English to other languages will be commercially viable. As a result, virtually only those writing in English will have a chance of reaching a world audience and achieving ‘classic status’. The outcome is clear, Mélitz argues: just as in the sciences, those who wish to reach a world audience will write in English. “World literature will be an English literature”, Mélitz warns, “and will be the poorer for it – as if all music were written only for the cello”. His work appears in "English-Language Dominance, Literature and Welfare," (CEPR Discussion Paper No. 2055). By literature, he refers to imaginative works of an earlier vintage that are still read today, and therefore the accumulation of world literature refers to the tiny fraction of currently produced imaginative works which will eventually be regarded as ‘classics’. According to Mélitz, the tendency of competitive forces in the global publishing market to privilege the translation of English fiction and poetry into other languages for reading or listening enjoyment may damage the production of world literature and in this respect make us all worse off.  In the case of literature, as opposed to other uses of language, language does not serve merely to communicate content (say, a story line) but is itself an essential source of enjoyment. Therefore, it is futile to argue that nothing would change if all potential contributors to literature wrote in the same language. “We might as well pretend that there would be no loss if all musical composers wrote for the cello” said Mélitz. Translations can only approximate the rhythms, sounds, images, allusions and evocations of the original, and in literature, those aspects are essential.

MODERN DAY HERO

Modern Day Heroes ?

A modern day hero is a person who faces adversity and danger from a position of weakness and undergoes self sacrifice for the good of the modern society. Such people are admired the most irrespective of their age and the public look up to them for guidance. In addition, their actions may affect just a few people or a large number of people.
A person who has accomplished great things in the modern day.A modern day hero is a person who helps those in need. Unlike the heroes in fairy tales or comic books, who save civilization from some great evil, the modern ..
Heroes can be many different people and don't have to have any super powers. Some modern day heroes are the parents who are working hard to provide for their kids ...

My Teacher,My Hero

My Teacher,My Hero

My Teachers ?. . .are my hero. They are  . . . they are the one who guides me,loves me and off course who teaches me.They are the one who gave me the inspiration to  pursue my studies for my good future. My teachers are the one who accept my personality as a student. They are the one giving me advice to become a good and responsible youth. They are the only one ! They are my Hero.
Every year,we are always celebrating the day of our beloved hero, our teachers.Teachers mold our characteristics, giving an advice to become our morals good. They are sharing their knowledge to us,in order to achieve our goal in life. They are our second parents in school, because of caring and loving us,as their children. There will be no engineers, doctors, soldiers, seaman if there is no teachers, because they are "the key to success."
I considered my teachers as one of my hero.Because of having them in my life,I am learning and obeying their good lessons. In the future,I will never forget all the good memories and and good lessons they've shared to me.

"Unravel the Causes,Build the Solution,Empower                         Science Clubbers to Action"

During the month of September,we are celebrating Science month celebration. There are different activities we are doing. In this month, the theme is "Unravel the Causes,Build the Solution,Empower Science Clubbers to Action." The theme is connected to our daily life.Build the solution means,we must do build or improve the solution or problem to our environment.Just like the problem of water pollution, this is the worst problem we are encountering today.Water pollution causes by throwing a garbage from the river,to the passage way of water. If water pollution continues,it will causes a continuous floods and it may be affect many people and may destroyed a houses.
Empower Science clubbers to action, what may be the meaning of this? In my own understanding,it gives the fellow men an information or giving an advice how to empower science clubbers so that it will act well.and science clubbers will give more information about our environment.

                "Wika Natin Ang Daang Matuwid"

Filipino month celebration celebrates this month of August .With the theme "Wika Natin Ang Daang Matuwid". For many years of celebrating the Filipino month celebration, there still some Filipino's who cannot understand what does it means or how does it help us. In this case, they are wanted to change "Pilipinas" to "Filipinas".But some are in favor to this idea.

For that, the theme of this month of August or Filipino month celebration means that when we use our own language or The Wikang Filipino,it takes us to the good way or it puts us to the perfect future. How to reach a good future? By simply using and loving our own language. That is one way to respect to our National Language. Language is one of the gift of GOD used to understand each other. Language is so important because it makes the people united with one another.

                        4P's(Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program)

Last July 22,2013,it was the day of SONA of our President Benigno Aquino III. It was his 4th SONA of being the president. PNOY had spoken a lot of topics to his SONA.One of this,is the 4P's or what we call the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program. This year,if one of the member of the family is at the age of below 14,they will be a member of the 4P's.The family must haven't a relatives or member of the family in abroad. And their children must be studying, but if not, they will remove to the 4P's.Being a member of the 4P's you must not gamble,so that you will not remove. The statement of our president,he said if one of the member of the family is at the age of 0-18yrs.old,they will be a member to the 4P's and some Filipinoes are happy, because they are given a chance to educate their children if they haven't a money.
This statement of PNOY is my favorite, because we are given a chance to study, even we are not enough money, but they will help us.
